Additive Manufacturing (AM) can revolutionize industries, but its full potential requires highly trained professionals with advanced degrees. The University of Ljubljana has expertise in direct laser deposition (DLD), but lacks knowledge in material behavior for functionally graded materials and post-processing to improve surface roughness. To address this, the SEAMAC project involves Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and Technische Universiteat Bergakademie Freiberg. Technion brings material science expertise and Bergakademie Freiberg contributes knowledge on plasma electrolytic polishing. Both institutions have significant AM experience, industry partnerships, and research management skills. The project includes technical and non-technical collaboration through workshops and summer schools.
