The ICAMPP 2025 conference in Portorož brought together researchers, industry and innovators to share knowledge and ideas in the field ofadditive manufacturing and post-processing. This group photo captures the spirit of collaboration and the shared vision of driving the future of AM technologies.
The first day of ICAMPP 2025 ended with a stimulating panel discussion on “The Future of AM Research and Industrial Uptake” Experts from science and industry exchanged views on new challenges, opportunities and ways to strengthen cooperation between research and application.
Day 1 of ICAMPP 2025 began with a warm welcome in Portorož, where participants had the opportunity to network, exchange ideas and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere by the sea. A perfect start for three days of inspiring discussions about additive manufacturing and post-processing!
In August, the Laboratory for Alternative Technologies hosted a Summer School for grammar school students, introducing them to the exciting world of additive manufacturing. The young participants learned the basics of CAD design, explored CAM software and 3D slicers, and gained hands-on experience with MEX-TRB/P 3D printing. The goal of the program was to spark curiosity, creativity, and technical skills among the next generation, showing how digital design and advanced manufacturing come together to create real-world products.
We are proud to announce that our SEAMAC team member Jithinraj Edakkavan Koroth received the Second Prize in the Poster Competition at the 25th International Conference of euspen in Zaragoza, Spain (June 2025).
The awarded poster, “Plasma Electrolytic Polishing of additively manufactured lattice structures: influence of cell size and forced electrolyte flow”, highlights the latest SEAMAC research on advanced post-processing methods for metal additive manufacturing.
The International Conference on Additive Manufacturing and Post-Processing (ICAMPP 2025) is just around the corner! We look forward to welcoming you to Portorož, Slovenia, from 7–9 September 2025. Join us for exciting discussions, networking, and new insights into the future of AM and post-processing.
SEAMAC past International Summer Schools were a great success. Join us on the next one! Participants will be provided with a comprehensive introduction to additive manufacturing (AM), focusing on processes like Direct Energy Deposition with Laser Beam (DED-LB) and Powder Bed Fusion with Laser Beam (PBF-LB). You will learn about multi-material processing, design considerations, defects in metal AM, post-processing techniques and plasma electrolytic polishing (PeP). The program combines theoretical lectures with hands-on experiences, including lab demonstrations, visits to companies, and practical exercises on 3D model preparation and 3D printing, surface quality assessment and PeP of complex parts.

V kavarni bomo gostili Edvarda Govekarja (UL-FS), Dejo Muck (UL-NTF), Aljošo Šajna (ZAG), Barbaro Wilkesmann (Chemets) in Joška Valentinčiča (UL-FS).
